Shades of Me

INT. PSYCHIATRISTS OFFICE
We see a medium sized room, with dark walls, with a single
light source in the form of an overhead flickering white
light. The corners of the room are really dark. The room has
only one mode of entry in the form of a sliding door, and
the room consists of a wooden desk with round edges, two
chairs and two dead plants next to the wall behind the desk.
Cut to Black
We hear the sound of stilettos while the screen is black.
We see the feet of two men dragging a patient. The two men
are wearing white pants and white loafers. The patient is
wearing white pajamas and white crocs.
The two men seat him on a chair and leave.
We see Audrey, an extremely attractive Caucasian woman in
her early thirties with blue piercing eyes, standing next to
the table. Audrey is wearing a light Grey high waist pencil
skirt, with a white formal shirt and black stilettos with a
red sole. She has properly manicured nails, a little blush
on her face, mascara in her eyes, naked lips, and tied back
hair.
Gregory is in his late twenties, has short hair, with green
eyes, he is tall, Caucasian and wearing a straitjacket.
Audrey walks around the table, looking at Gregory and
smiling at him, and then stands over the empty chair resting
her hands on the top of the back rest and leans in.
AUDREY
Hello Gregory, how are we this fine
afternoon?
GREGORY
Just fine, and its Greg, if we’re
done with the pleasantries, what do
you want Audrey?
We see Audrey pull her chair back.
AUDREY
I just wanted to talk to you
Gregory, since we haven’t in a
while.
GREGORY
Why would you care.
Audrey sits on the chair.

AUDREY
Its my job, Gregory.
Hysterical personality emerges from the dark and stands next
to Gregory and begins to laugh. The Hysterical personality
is a black man with dark eyes. His face is painted like a
creepy mimes face, and has blood tears clotted under his
lower eyelid. He is wearing a black t-shirt and black pants
and is bare feet.
GREGORY
Evidently.
AUDREY
You know we have till forever for
you to play these games, i don’t
mind waiting. (short pause) You can
talk to me about anything you want,
Gregory.
The schizophrenic personality emerges from the the other
side, and hides behind Gregory and the hysterical
personality. He is fear stricken and his face is white with
fear. The area around his eyes are darkened as if he has not
slept in a very long time. He is wearing a torn stained
white t-shirt, beige shorts and bare feet. The schizophrenic
personality peers from between Gregory and the hysterical
personality.
SCHIZOPHRENIC PERSONALITY
I’m not, I’m not gonna tell you
anything (short pause) I’m not, I
won’t. I don’t trust you.
Audrey looks at Gregory disapprovingly.
Hysterical personality is still laughing.
SCHIZOPHRENIC PERSONALITY
I know what you’re trying to do,
you can’t control me.
Audrey smiles softly.
AUDREY
I don’t need to, it’s all in your
head Gregory.
The schizophrenic personality runs in to the dark followed
by the hysterical personality who is still laughing
hysterically.
Audrey smiles at Gregory

AUDREY (cont’d)
So Gregory, tell me, do you love
your parents?
Gregory’s silent personality emerges from the dark along
with the hateful personality. The Silent personality stands
behind Audrey, and the Hateful personality stands behind
Gregory.
The hateful personality is wearing a black shirt and jeans
with black shoes. His face is slightly contorted to the
left. He has angry eyes, full of resentment and hatred.
The silent personality is wearing a white t-shirt and white
pyjamas along with white crocs. His face is powdered white,
and his lips are sewn shut with black thread. He is teary
eyed and his eyes show immense sadness and helplessness.
GREGORY
How can i tell, if i never knew
them. They were never there.
HATEFUL PERSONALITY
(leans in and whispers into
gregory’s ear)
Because they never loved you.
The silent personality has tears in his eyes. He breaks down
turns away and moves into the darkness.
AUDREY
Is that so. Tell me more.
GREGORY
They were too occupied with
themselves and their separate
lives.
The hateful personality looks at Audrey leans ahead while
resting his palms on the desk.
HATEFUL PERSONALITY
It’s because mom’s a bitch.
Audrey gives the hateful personality the look, and he
slithers away into the darkness.
AUDREY
So tell me about your childhood,
what was life like at home?
(CONTINUED)
CONTINUED: (4) 4.
Tough guy personality emerges from the left hand side of the
room, and slams his hands onto the desk. Tough guy
personality is tall and skinny, has dark hair, and a
stubble. He is wearing a white t-shirt and white washed
jeans.
TOUGH GUY PERSONALITY
SHIT!
AUDREY
Is that why you ran away?
TOUGH GUY PERSONALITY
No! its because mom was a bitch!
AUDREY
Is that why you blamed her for the
death of your sister?
Tough guy personality steps away from the desk and withers
away into the dark. Gregory is overcome with anger and his
violent personality emerges along with a little girl holding
onto his pyjamas. The violent personality is dressed the
same way as Gregory, he is wearing a straitjacket and white
pyjamas and white crocs. The little girl is in her pink
night suit. She has unkempt hair, and looks very shabby.
The violent personality begins to mumble obscenities and
tries to break out of his straitjacket. This makes the
little girl scream and begin to cry.
The violent personality watches the little girl cry and
begins to calm down.
VIOLENT PERSONALITY
Please don’t cry, i am so sorry,
it’s just sometimes mommy makes me
so mad.
LITTLE GIRL
(crying)
Im sorry.
Audrey leans in towards Gregory.
AUDREY
Didn’t YOU say in YOUR report that
she was YOUR responsibility, YOU
were in charge and YOU let it
happen, i don’t see how your mother
is at fault here.
(CONTINUED)

VIOLENT PERSONALITY
You shut the fuck up bitch, or i
will rip your pompous throat out.
AUDREY
Now now, calm down, there is no
need for violence. Besides what has
it gotten you anyway, a
straitjacket.
Looking at the argument happening the little girl gets
scared and runs off into the darkness.
AUDREY (cont’d)
As far as i know, you didn’t know
her well enough to call her all
that you did.
The violent personality is about to say something but she
raises her finger and continues talking.
AUDREY (cont’d)
You never called her, or asked
about her, so how would you know
what it was like. Did you ever ask
her if she was okay after her
divorce, did you even think about
her once before you ran off, as far
as i can see it Gregory, you are
selfish. No wonder you are going
crazy.
We see Gregory’s violent personality trying to break through
the jacket, but when he fails to do so, he just looks Audrey
in the eye.
AUDREY (cont’d)
You keep blaming everyone around
you, ill tell you who needs to be
blamed, It’s You.
GREGORY
What did i ever do to deserve this?
AUDREY
You let your sister die, you left
your mother alone to die, and you
never even went to her funeral.
Gregory remains speechless, and stares straight at Audrey.

AUDREY (cont’d)
That’s what i thought.
Just then the door opens behind Gregory, the light stops
flickering, and the room lights up. The walls of the room
are white. Behind the desk is a coat stand and a file
cabinet. There is a window in the room which is eminating
light onto perfectly healthy plants. There is a couch for
patients to lie on, as well as a single seater for them to
sit on. Along with a round wooden coffee table in the
middle.
On the desk are two glasses filled with water, one with a
straw in it, and the other covered.
We see the actual psychiatrist Dr.Nayer walk in. Dr. Nayer
is wearing a light brown suit and holding some papers a cup
of coffee and a single fold White coat. Which he hangs on
the coat stand. He is tall, slightly fair, has curly hair
and is wearing black framed eye glasses. He is of an Asian
descent.
DR.NAYER
Sorry for running a little late
Greg, got caught up with some
paperwork.
Dr.Nayer walk past Gregory and sits in the chair previously
occupied by Audrey.
DR.NAYER
Since you didn’t reply to me
calling you greg, who am i speaking
with today?
We dont show Gregory’s face when he replies this time.
GREGORY (O/S)
It’s Gregory.
DR.NAYER
Audrey still bothering you?
Now we show Audrey standing over Gregory, with her hands on
his shoulders. She leans in close to his ear and whispers to
him.
AUDREY
Mommy is never going away.
Cut to black.
Roll credits.
